Adolf Ciborowski

Adolf Ciborowski (25 May 1919 - 26 January 1987) was a Polish architect. He was Chief Architect of Warsaw in the years 1956-1964.〔Patsy Healey, Robert Upton. ''Crossing Borders: International Exchange and Planning Practices''. Routledge. 2010. p. 59.〕
Ciborowski was born and died in Warsaw. He was hired as a planner for war-damaged Hannover, and in 1965 received a town-planning prize by the University of Hannover - the first foreigner to receive the award. He also worked as consultant on the master plan in Baghdad, and supervised the reconstruction of Skopje after its destruction by an earthquake in 1963.〔Adenrele A. Awotona. ''Reconstruction after disaster: issues and practices''. Ashgate Publishing. 1997. p. 75.〕〔Earl W. Foell. "Skopje the Phoenix City". ''The Rotarian''. March 1968. pp. 30-31.〕
